An Extra Post for Today

I was working at the panorama sets I shot and wanted to post this one. I don’t feel like correcting the barrel distortion, I like the impression it gives. What do you think?

  1. Brings up an interesting question for me…do you do the barrel distortion correction after the stitching or before? I would think after, but I don’t know. Any advice?

    1. Good point there 🙂 I really think it depends on what the purpose of your panorama is. When you correct the distortion prior to the stitching, you loose the edges and narrow the result, when you correct afterwards, you loose based on the final result. Both are viable techniques, but then you focus more on one thing or the other. And there are shots where you don’t want to loose the distortion just because it looks better 😀

      1. Yeah, I would think the stitching program would have a harder time with corrected photos before the stitching. I’m looking into doing some panoramas soon so this is an interesting topic. Thanks
