Self-portrait

An abstrait self-portrait celebrating the 10k shots milestone on my Sony a77. Cheers 🙂

New additions to my Minolta line-up

As I was antiquing today, I stumbled upon a mint Minolta MD 28mm f/2.8 and a Sigma Tele-Macro 2x for Minolta. If you ask me, 9 euros each was a bargain. I went online and found that the MD 28mm is at around 60 euros and the Sigma TC is at 25 euros and up. I’m extremely happy about these two. Especially considering the fact that the Minolta x-500 is about to become my walk-around 35mm camera, alongside the a77.

I have also finally found a solution for something that has been bothering me ever since we moved in our new place: how to organize all my gear.

I was using two empty “cubes” in a beautiful piece of furniture we have, it was convenient and it could fit pretty much everything, even the beauty dish. I am now down to one single “cube” thanks to two 10 euros each plastic organizer drawers. Each organizer has three drawers. I used one organizer for film gear, the other for numeric gear. I really like this because it allows me to store everything away from dust. I still use the cupboard’s box but now it’s actually organized in a way allowing me to find everything.

One drawer in each organizer with lenses (that’s how I realized I own three different 50mm lenses for my x-500, an f/1.4, an f/1.7, and an f/2. Anyway). One for everything that’s flash related, and one for miscellaneous gear. These last tow are on the numeric side. On the other side, besides the lenses drawer, I used one for my x-500 and one for my Zorki-11. Around these two are smaller things. I also realized I only have one Ilford XP2 Super 400 left. Not good, which will prompt me to order some more.

If you’re interested, I’ll post pics of my whole organization. I know I spent quite some time researching good ways to do that.

Bye for now 🙂
